1. Tenancy Agreement
All Surbiton vehicle rentals are subject to a detailed Rental Agreement provided at booking confirmation or at vehicle collection. The agreement sets out the specific terms, conditions, insurance details, charges, and your responsibilities for the particular rental. If there is any conflict between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
2. Surbiton Eligibility
To rent a vehicle from Surbiton, you must:
- Be at least 21 years old to rent from Surbiton (age restrictions may vary by vehicle type, with additional charges possible for drivers under 25). Hold a valid, full driving licence appropriate to the vehicle category, held for the minimum period stated in the Rental Agreement. Provide valid identification and proof of address and payment method as requested at collection.
3. Reservations and Payments
- Reservations may be placed via our website, by telephone, or in person at our Surbiton office. A booking deposit may be requested to confirm your reservation. Final payment and the security deposit are normally payable when the vehicle is collected. All charges are shown in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable.
4. Surbiton Collection and Return
- You must inspect the vehicle thoroughly at collection and report any existing damage to Surbiton immediately. A vehicle condition report will be completed and signed by you and a Surbiton representative. Return the vehicle in the same condition as collected, allowing for normal wear and tear. Any new damage noted on return will be assessed and charged in line with Surbiton's damage and repair policy.
5. Coverage and Liability
- Basic third-party insurance is included with all Surbiton rentals. Full coverage details and excess amounts are provided in the Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be available to lower your financial exposure. Please review these options carefully. You are responsible for damage or loss up to the excess amount set out in the Rental Agreement.
6. Cancellation and Amendments
Surbiton cancellation and amendment policies vary by booking type and notice period. Refer to your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement for specific details. Late cancellations or no-shows may result in charges.
7. Surbiton Prohibitions
You must not use the Surbiton vehicle for:
- Use of a Surbiton vehicle for any illegal purpose or activity. Participation in racing, rallying, off-roading, or other hazardous activities. Transporting hazardous or dangerous materials. Subletting the vehicle to third parties or permitting unauthorised drivers. Driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Uses for which the vehicle is not intended.
Violating these restrictions may result in immediate Surbiton rental termination and additional charges.
8. Limitation of Surbiton's Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by English and Welsh law, Surbiton will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of profits, data or business, arising from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the fees paid by you for the relevant services in the six months preceding the claim.
9. Surbiton Law
These Terms, as they apply to Surbiton, are governed by English and Welsh law. Any dispute relating to these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English and Welsh courts.
10. Changes to Surbiton Terms
Surbiton may modify these Terms at any time. Modifications take effect immediately upon posting on our website. Continued use of Surbiton services constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
